- Pedro "Pete" Sillonis, 89, long-time resident of Adrian was born September 17, 1925, to Juan Agustin and Juana Zarandona Sillonis in Ispaster Spain. He died July 13, 2015 from complications of pneumonia at Saint Alphonsus in Ontario, Oregon. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm at St. Bridget’s, in Nyssa, under the direction of Nyssa's Lienkaemper Chapel.
As a young child, Pete emigrated with his parents from Spain to the western United States. He lived in Boise, Marsing, and Adrian, where he attended Adrian High School.
After completing his service in World War II, Pete returned to Adrian, where he worked on the family farm. He married Irma Douglas June 1957, and they raised their three children on the family row crop and dairy farm.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Irma; three children, Gus Sillonis of Nampa, Regina Gouverneur (Curt) of Beaverton and Kathy of Portland; five grandchildren, Kepa, Luke and Rachael Sillonis and Zachary and Ian Gouverneur; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Sillonis; a sister and two brothers, Cecilia Lodzinski of Vale, Albert (Jeanette) Sillonis of Weiser, and Mike Sillonis of Adrian.
He was preceded in death by his sister Carmen Eiguren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Sillonis Memorial Scholarship Fund at Adrian School District, PO Box 108, Adrian, OR, 97901.
