    • 83-year-old Burley resident, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at his home. He was born October 6, 1917, in Mountain Home, Idaho, the son of Jacinto J. and Rosario Aguirra Acaiturri. He moved to Burley, with his family, at a young age where he attended school graduating from Burley High School. He then entered the service during World War II, where he served as an engineer in the Marine Corp. Upon his honorable discharge, he moved to Oregon, where he worked at a school for abused boys. He wawas courageous in assisting these young men to overcome the unfair obstacles they had been given. He married Dona Rae Dayley on January 9, 1950, in Elko, Nev. They later divorced on January 18, 1971. He loved farming! He would farm during the day and worked as a bartender at night. He did bartending at the Yacht Club, Cassia National Bar, the Ponderosa, the Office Bar in Paul and at the Burley Inn. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include his children, Linda Gomez of BBoise, Terri Allan Lee of Burley, Kim Michael Hunter of Oakley, Wendy Rick Larson of Burley, Jeffrey Acaiturri of Hagerman and Micheal Paul Barnes of Burley; his siblings, Juanita Pinney and Joyce Gene Tonnemaker both of Washington and Joey Bettty Acaiturri of Oregon; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacinto and Rosario Acaiturri; two sisters, Mary and Julia; four brothers, J. Pete, Louis, Leon and Gene and one great-granddaughter, Bridgette Rose Gomez. A private family service will be held under the direction of Rasmussen Funeral Home, Burley. The family suggests memorial be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children, in care of Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 East 16th Street, Burley, ID 83318.
