- Jose Francisco and Agueda were both farmers before immigrating t the United States. Jose Francisco served in the Spanish army in the Philippines and also fought in the cavalry in Cuba before looking for work across the Atlantic. He came alone and worked in the mill at the Delamar mine for awhile before returning to Euskal Herria to marry Agueda. All of their children were born in the United States. The family moved to Jordan Valley, Oregon in 1919.
